Rose Collectors Programme: name-based variety recommendations – PharmaRosa®

In partnership with rose collectors

Rose collectors are the ones who not only know the varieties, but trial, compare and observe them in the garden over many years. This long-term, hands-on knowledge is an irreplaceable asset. The aim of PharmaRosa® is to integrate this experience into the rose variety pages in a structured way, recognising it by name and making it visible across Europe – for the development of European garden rose culture.

Experience that creates value – and becomes visible by name across Europe

Rose collectors’ gardens are living collections: here a variety is not a description, but real behaviour. Multi-year observations (flowering, fragrance, habit, tolerance, care needs) provide practical knowledge that gives buyers an advantage when choosing, and gives varieties a better chance of ending up in the right garden.

The essence of the programme is that we display collectors’ experience on the rose variety pages, always under Your name, with Your country indicated. In this way, Your professional recommendations do not only live on as scattered forum comments, but in a searchable, updatable and internationally visible form that supports gardeners.

Why is the knowledge of rose collectors so crucial?

The real value of a variety is often decided in the practical details. Collectors’ experience adds particular value where buyers are most likely to make mistakes.

  • tolerance: under heat, rainfall, extremes and transitional seasons,
  • growth balance: how steadily it develops and regenerates,
  • flowering reliability: repeat, intensity, timing,
  • care needs: what it requires and what it does not tolerate,
  • garden usability: in which setting it “shows its best”.

When these observations are systematically added to the variety pages, better decisions are made, there is less disappointment, and quality varieties find their audience more quickly.

Dissemination of garden rose varieties

This is a multi-actor process in which each participant’s unique contribution and harmonious cooperation create success.

Actors

  • Breeder: creates new rose varieties through long and costly work; a task that requires unique expertise.
  • Distributor: brings varieties into production, ensures they can be purchased, and makes them available across Europe.
  • Rose collectors, rose enthusiasts: the credible observers of practical variety value; based on their multi-year experience they help buyers and contribute to the survival of varieties.
  • Rose buyers: the driving force of the rose market; with their choices and feedback they confirm which varieties perform well in gardens.

Conditions

  • Feedback: ensuring and maintaining information exchange between the actors.
  • Transparency: collectors’ observations are presented as experiential recommendations within clear parameters.
  • Approval: before publication, the final text is released with the rose collector’s approval.

Implementation

The coordinator of the process is the distributor, who:

  • brings together all actors,
  • produces and ensures the availability of the varieties,
  • maintains relationships with breeders,
  • has international market platforms (160 webshops in 32 languages),
  • organises and edits collectors’ experience into a consistent format,
  • consults and seeks approval before publication,
  • continuously analyses interest and sales data,
  • conducts active marketing across all its sales channels.

PharmaRosa® Kft. presents rose collectors’ experience on the variety pages under Your name, with Your country indicated – thereby supporting purchasing decisions while recognising collectors’ work.

Name-credit on the rose variety pages

One of the most important elements of the programme is that collectors’ experience does not appear anonymously, but together with Your professional credibility. On the variety pages we show the collector’s recommendation in a dedicated section, so visitors immediately see that it is based on real, multi-year observations.

What does this mean for You as a rose collector?

  • Professional, name-based visibility across Europe.
  • Moral recognition: Your experience is linked to Your name and does not “dissolve” in the background.
  • Professional legacy: in the longer term, individual varieties may become associated with Your name.
  • Structured, searchable presence: the knowledge does not live in comment threads, but helps on variety pages.
  • Optional own photos: images taken in Your garden add extra value.

How does it appear on the variety page?

  • “Rose collector’s recommendation – [Name], [country]” on the variety page,
  • short, to-the-point observations: strengths, sensitivities, recommended uses,
  • optionally: observation period (for example 3–10 years),
  • updatable content: if new experience is gained, it can be refined,
  • where available: integration of photo material taken in Your own garden.

Professional and ethical principles

  • Name-based recognition: the recommendation appears with Your name.
  • Experiential framework: we communicate the content as observation and practical recommendation.
  • Fairness and approval: before publication You approve the final text.
  • Long-term: the connection between the varieties and Your name is a value that we preserve.

The shared goal: to preserve the diversity of roses and to support gardeners, while ensuring that the work of rose collectors receives a worthy, visible place.

Would You like to join the Rose Collectors programme and have Your professional experience appear by name on rose variety pages across Europe?

We will prepare a ready-to-use “collector’s recommendation” package: a short professional framework and template, consistent editing, an approval process and the method of name-based display, so that Your experience offers real help to buyers.

  • Discussion of Your collection focus and the range of varieties
  • Preparation of short, structured recommendations for the variety pages (strengths, sensitivities, recommended uses)
  • Consistent editing and linguistic refinement of collectors’ observations
  • Ensuring approval before publication
  • Name-based display: [Name], [country] on the variety pages
  • Ongoing feedback: based on interest and user reactions
