Origin and breeding
Bred by Martin Vissers in Belgium before 2010, introduced and registered in 2010 by Viva International. Parentage is the English shrub Abraham Darby crossed with the disease-tolerant Baby Love.
Growth and structure
Bushy, upright shrub 75–105 cm high with a 45–75 cm spread. Moderately thorny canes with dense, dark green glossy foliage providing good ground cover and a solid visual mass in beds and borders.
Flower morphology
Semi-double, flat blooms with 13–25 petals, medium sized at 4–7 cm across. Flowers are borne in clusters typical of floribundas, with abundant remontant rebloom after the first main flush.
Colour and phenology
Closed buds are deep copper-yellow with an orange sheen, opening rich golden yellow with coppery edges. Colour lightens in strong sun to buttery yellow; overall colour retention is good across the flowering period.
Fragrance and aroma
Mild, delicate honeyed scent best appreciated at close range, making it suitable for paths and seating areas. Semi-double flowers offer moderate pollinator interest, though access to stamens is partially limited.
