Origin and breeding
Bred by L. Pernille and Mogens Nyegaard Olesen for Poulsen Roser A/S from unknown seedling × ‘POULmax’; introduced and registered in 1997 by Poulsen Roser A/S (Denmark).
Growth and structure
Compact, bushy plant reaching about 40–60 cm high and 35–55 cm wide; moderately dense dark green foliage with moderate prickles, forming a tidy, low mound ideal for borders and beds.
Flower morphology
Double, cup-shaped flowers with around 26–39 petals in medium-sized, clustered inflorescences; remontant habit that brings a plentiful second flush of blooms after the first main flowering.
Colour and phenology
Uniform dark burgundy flowers with a velvety matt finish; buds open dark ruby, slowly fading through deep burgundy to mahogany red, with good colour retention across the flowering period.
