LENKA™ – cream-white bedding floribunda rose - Tanjga

With its softly cream-white blooms and compact habit, LENKA™ fits beautifully into smaller Irish gardens where space is limited but You still want a refined rose that simply gets on with the job. This floribunda forms a neat, bushy shrub and is ideal for front beds, edging and low hedges, coping well even where soils are heavy and need thoughtful drainage after rain. The medium-height plants are easy to place so You can enjoy generous repeat flowering without complex pruning. Its medium, sweet fragrance adds a gentle romance around paths and seating areas, while the bushy, dark green foliage gives reliable structure all season. Grown on its own roots in a 2‑litre container, LENKA™ settles in steadily, supporting a long garden lifespan with good regeneration after winter. Year by year it becomes a well-shaped, balanced shrub that stays pleasingly compact, especially when planted with simple companions like lavender or rosemary, giving You confident, low-fuss success in the border. In the first year it focuses on roots, the second on stronger shoots, and by the third year it reveals its full ornamental display.

Use cases

Target areaReason
Front garden bedding by the entrance The compact, bushy growth and 60–85 cm height keep the plant neatly in proportion with paths and low walls, giving a cared-for look without overgrowing the space – ideal for a visible, welcoming front approach for busy homeowners
Low edging along garden paths Recommended spacings from 50–60 cm allow LENKA™ to form a tidy, low edging line; its dense, glossy foliage reads as a green ribbon even between flushes of bloom, helping define paths in average-sized family gardens for beginner gardeners
Mixed cottage-style bed with perennials Clustered, medium-sized double flowers held above dark leaves blend easily with cottage favourites such as phlox and lavender, and the floribunda habit keeps colour returning through summer, supporting a relaxed but coherent cottage style for rural garden owners
Small rose groups in ornamental beds Planting 3–5 roses at 60 cm spacing quickly creates a unified, cream-white focal area; the bushy structure fills out gaps without becoming leggy, giving dependable visual impact in the first few years after planting for new-build homeowners
Medium containers on patios or balconies LENKA™ adapts well to life in a large pot, provided You choose a minimum 40–50 litre container with quality compost and regular watering, giving a tidy, elegant rose option for paved spaces where in-ground planting is limited for apartment dwellers
Family garden beds with variable light This variety tolerates partial shade, so it copes well with the changing sun angles around homes and taller shrubs; You can still expect good flowering from beds that only see full sun for part of the day for practical family gardeners
Easy-care long-term rose plantings As an own-root plant in the pharmaROSA ORIGINAL 2-litre format, LENKA™ gradually forms its final shrub shape on site, regenerating well from its own base and supporting a stable, long-lived planting with relatively simple upkeep for long-term planners
Irish gardens with wet, heavy soil Moderate disease resistance and own-root resilience combine well where careful soil preparation helps the rose cope with repeatedly wet, heavier clay, allowing the plant to settle into a reliable flowering routine in our damp Atlantic-influenced climate for Irish beginners

Decorating ideas

  • Cream-edged path – line a front path with LENKA™ at 50–60 cm, underplant with low thyme for scent and a soft carpet effect – ideal for busy families wanting a smart, simple entrance
  • Cottage trio focus – group three LENKA™ in a triangle and weave in garden phlox and catmint for a romantic, layered border – perfect for those who love classic cottage charm without complex designs
  • Patio statement pot – plant LENKA™ in a 40–50 litre terracotta container with trailing ivy and spring bulbs for year-round interest – suited to balcony or patio owners seeking one strong focal point
  • Cream and lavender bed – alternate LENKA™ with lavender rows to contrast silky white blooms with purple spikes and evergreen texture – great for gardeners wanting structure, scent and easy mowing lines
  • Small hedge border – create a low hedge by spacing LENKA™ at 50 cm along a drive, backing it with boxleaf honeysuckle for depth – useful for homeowners aiming for a tidy, long-lived boundary feature

Technical cultivar profile
ParameterData
Name and registration Floribunda shrub rose, commercial bed rose; registered as BOZlenfra, marketed as Lenka™ Frayla® BOZlenfra. Part of the Frayla® collection, intended as an ornamental garden variety for beds and borders.
Origin and breeding Bred by Biljana Božanić Tanjga, PhenoGeno Roses d o o, Temerin, Serbia. Parentage is unknown. Introduced in 2020 and registered in the EU under number 61772, later entering wider distribution from 2022.
Growth and structure Compact, bushy shrub 60–85 cm high and 50–75 cm wide with dense, dark green, glossy foliage and only slight thorniness. Spent blooms tend to remain, so gentle deadheading improves appearance and encourages further flowering.
Flower morphology Double, cup-shaped flowers with 26–39 petals, borne in clusters of 3–5 per stem. Medium flower size, around 1.5–2.75 inches, with good repeat-flowering and an abundant second flush under normal garden conditions.
Colour and phenology Buds open pale buttery cream-yellow, quickly fading to translucent cream-white and then pure white. Colour retention is weak, but full bloom shows a silky, uniform creamy white effect that combines well with many companion plants.
Fragrance and aroma Medium-strength, pleasantly sweet fragrance noticeable at close range, giving a gentle scented presence along paths and seating. The double form hides the stamens, so the rose is primarily ornamental rather than pollinator focused.
Rose hip characteristics Hip set is usually scant due to strongly double flowers, but occasional small ellipsoid hips 8–12 mm in diameter may form, coloured orange-red (RHS 40A) and adding a discreet seasonal accent in late season.
Resistance and hardiness Moderate overall disease resistance to powdery mildew, black spot and rust, responding well to basic hygiene and occasional treatments. Fully hardy to about −21 to −18 °C, corresponding to USDA zone 6b and Swedish zone 3, RHS H7.
Horticultural recommendations Suited to beds, edging, low hedges, containers and some cutting. Allow 50–100 cm spacing depending on use. Tolerates partial shade and moderate heat, requiring watering during prolonged dry periods and routine deadheading for best effect.

LENKA™ offers compact, bushy growth, repeat cream-white flowering and gentle fragrance on a long-lived own-root shrub that settles reliably into family gardens, making it a reassuring choice if You want a rose that simply works.

Information about the videos
The video series is not a “seasonal showcase”, but makes the essence of pharmaROSA® own-root production tangible: how the plant is built, what the root system is like and how the shoots renew themselves. The footage was therefore taken at different times, showing plants at different stages of development, so mixed leaf coverage or differing growth stages may appear in the videos. This is not a “sample” of the batch delivered, but an illustration of how the technology works. The current condition of the rose available to order — typical of the given period and similar to what you can expect to receive in the parcel — is shown at the top of the product page.
