Old hybrid with Rosa arvensis in its background; breeder not recorded. Distributed by W. Kordes’ Söhne from 1928. Unregistered cultivar, long established in European heritage rose collections.

Strong climbing rambler reaching about 4.7–6.9 m in height with a 2.1–3.3 m spread. Long, flexible, moderately thorny canes and medium-dense, matt bluish-green foliage form a graceful, pendulous framework.
