Origin and breeding
Bred by Marie-Louise Meilland, Meilland International, France. Parentage: MEIdonq × [(Darling × Jack Frost)]. Bred 1985, registered 1989, introduced after 1989 via Meilland International.
Growth and structure
Broadly spreading, ground-cover habit, 90–150 cm high with a 135–225 cm spread. Dense, dark green, glossy foliage and moderately thorny shoots give a full, carpet-forming appearance as the plant matures.
Flower morphology
Very double, ball to pompon-shaped blooms with 40+ petals, produced in clusters. Small flowers (0.5–1.5 in) cover the bush generously. Remontant, with a second flush that is also notably abundant in season.
Colour and phenology
Petals are snow-white with a cool tone, holding colour very well. Buds open pale cream-white with greenish sepals, then pure white with a slight icy sheen, remaining white as they age and fading only slightly in sun.
