Origin and breeding
Bred by Scipion Cochet, Pépinières Cochet, Suisnes, France, introduced 1855. A seedling of ‘Géant des Batailles’, representing classic nineteenth-century French Damask breeding tradition.

Bushy, upright shrub around 80–130 cm high and wide, with moderately dense, matte mid-green foliage and moderate prickles; forms a rounded, self-supporting outline in beds or as a specimen.
