Bred by Alain André Meilland, Marie-Louise “Louisette” Meilland Paolino and Michèle Meilland-Richardier, Meilland International, France; parentage includes ‘Jolie Madame’, ‘Sunlight’, ‘Lady Elgin’ and ‘Dr. A. J. Verhage’.
Growth and structure
Upright hybrid tea with moderately dense, slightly glossy bronze-green foliage; height about 120–160 cm, spread 70–90 cm. Moderately thorny canes; forms a tidy, vertical bush suited to borders and specimen planting.
Flower morphology
Medium-sized, double flowers with 26–39 petals, solitary on stems. High-centred, pointed-budded, classic cut-rose form. Remontant, with an abundant second flush given adequate feeding and watering during the season.
Colour and phenology
Warm salmon-pink overall, with vibrant orange-pink buds and coral sheen. Colour lightens slightly to coral-orange at full bloom, outer petals becoming paler with apricot inner tones; good colour retention through the flowering cycle.
