EDEN ROSE® – pink-white climbing rose - Mouchotte

If You dream of a romantic arch or cottage-style wall that simply looks after itself, EDEN ROSE® gives You large, nostalgic blooms without complicated work in a wet climate and blustery Irish conditions. This ROMANTICA® climbing rose produces generous, very full flowers in soft pink and cream on a healthy, leafy framework that is naturally sparse in thorns, so everyday care and tying-in are more comfortable. As an own-root pharmaROSA® ORIGINAL rose it settles gradually, building roots in year one, strong shoots in year two and its full show of flowers by about year three, giving long-term structure rather than a short-lived display. It copes well with partial shade, so it is ideal for house walls, pergolas and arches that only get sun for part of the day. Once established, its climbing habit and dense, dark foliage create a handsome green backdrop even between flushes. Moderately fragrant, with a refined, sweet scent, it also works beautifully as a cut rose for the home. In average Irish gardens, reliable flowering, medium maintenance needs and own-root resilience mean You can plant, tie in, keep it watered and enjoy a romantic focal point for many years with relatively little ongoing effort.

Freshly opened Eden Rose® bloom with creamy white outer petals and a soft pink inner centre.

Use cases

Target area Reason
Front-garden arch over a path Large, very full blooms in soft pink and cream give a welcoming entrance and classic cottage appeal, while the strong climbing habit quickly clothes an arch and offers reliable repeat flowering that suits time-poor, style-conscious beginners
House wall or sunny gable Dense, dark green foliage and medium-height climbing growth create a leafy curtain that softens masonry, performing well even in a wet, windy Irish season with simple tying-in and deadheading, ideal for busy homeowners
Romantic seating area or pergola The mild, sweet fragrance and nostalgic flower form are perfect beside a bench or terrace, where You can enjoy the scent at close quarters without overpowering perfume, suiting those who like subtle elegance
Small group planting on a large trellis Planting 2–3 own-root plants together builds a long-lived, stable framework of stems that regenerates well from the base, giving dependable cover and flowers for many years, appealing to gardeners seeking lasting value
Partially shaded side garden Good tolerance of partial shade allows planting on east- or west-facing aspects where sun is limited, still providing repeat flushes of bloom for neat, low-fuss structure that suits narrow side paths and practical borders
Cutting corner in a family garden Long-stemmed, full, ball-shaped flowers in pastel tones look refined in vases and bouquets, so one well-placed climber can supply the house with its own romantic cut roses, ideal for creative, home-focused gardeners
Coastal or exposed suburban garden Robust foliage, good hardiness and tolerance of blustery conditions mean it handles Atlantic wind and driving rain with moderate care, providing a dependable vertical accent for coastal and edge-of-town plots
Large container on balcony or terrace (with support) In a 40–50 litre container with a sturdy obelisk or trellis, the own-root plant gradually forms a balanced, manageable climber; focusing growth in a generous pot improves drainage and suits tidy, low-maintenance patios

Decorating ideas

  • Cottage Archway – Train EDEN ROSE® over a rustic metal arch, underplant with lamb’s ear and lavender for soft textures and pastel tones – perfect for lovers of traditional cottage gardens
  • Romantic Wall Scene – Cover a sunny wall and combine with climbing honeysuckle and old-style terracotta pots for a layered, storybook look – ideal for those seeking a dreamy front facade
  • Pastel Pergola – Let the climber frame an outdoor seating pergola, with containers of hydrangea and rosemary nearby for structure and scent – great for families who dine outdoors
  • Elegant Entrance – Flank a gateway with two matching trellises, pairing the rose with low mounds of bugle and dwarf box edging – suited to urban homes that want neat, classic kerb appeal
  • Balcony Feature – Grow in a large container with a slim obelisk, adding trailing ivy and seasonal bedding at the base – ideal for small-space gardeners wanting vertical romance

Information about the videos
The video series is not a “seasonal showcase”, but makes the essence of pharmaROSA® own-root production tangible: how the plant is built, what the root system is like and how the shoots renew themselves. The footage was therefore taken at different times, showing plants at different stages of development, so mixed leaf coverage or differing growth stages may appear in the videos. This is not a “sample” of the batch delivered, but an illustration of how the technology works. The current condition of the rose available to order — typical of the given period and similar to what you can expect to receive in the parcel — is shown at the top of the product page.
