Natural climbing sport of the hybrid tea ‘Edith Piaf®’ (MEIramboys). Bred by Alain Meilland, Meilland International, France; breeding work from 1999, introduced to the market in 2016.

Linked to the award-winning ‘Edith Piaf®’ line, which took 1st prize for fragrance at the World Rose Fragrance Competition in Nantes in 2005, confirming its outstanding scented character.
Growth and structure
Vigorous climbing habit 200–320 cm high and 150–250 cm spread. Requires tying to support structures. Dense, dark green glossy foliage, moderately thorny canes, forms a substantial vertical presence.
Flower morphology
Very double, high-centred blooms with 40+ petals, XL size from around 3.5 inches upwards. Flowers are mostly solitary on stems, reminiscent of premium cut roses, with a plentiful second flush.
Colour and phenology
Deep, velvety dark red with blackish tints in bud, opening to intense ruby red. Colour remains rich with only slight fading to dark cherry red. Very good colour retention across repeated summer flushes.

Only slight fading is noticeable: the dark red bud with a blackish tinge opens to an intense ruby red, remains a rich dark red at full bloom, and turns dark cherry red before fading, with a slightly matt finish.
