Romantic shrub rose from the Générosa collection; registered as MASemgui, traded as Emilien Guillot™. Belongs to the Romantica nostalgia group, suitable for garden and exhibition use.
Origin and breeding
Bred by Dominique Massad for Roseraies Guillot in France, from unknown parentage. Introduced and registered in 2001, breeding completed in 1997, continuing the Guillot romantic rose line.
Growth and structure
Forms a compact, bushy shrub about 75–105 cm high and 55–75 cm wide. Dark, glossy, dense foliage and moderate prickles give a full, well-branched shape suited to beds, edging and low hedging.
Flower morphology
Very double, rosette-type flowers with over 40 petals and an XL diameter. Cluster-flowered habit, remontant through the season, though the second flush is usually lighter than the first main flowering.
