Origin and breeding
Bred by Georges Delbard, Roseraies Georges Delbard, France. Parentage not disclosed. Introduced and registered in 1995, with breeding completed in France the same year for ornamental garden and exhibition use.
Growth and structure
Vigorous climbing habit, typically 2,4–3,6 m high with 1,6–2,4 m spread. Forms dense, dark green glossy foliage on moderately thorny canes; requires support and tying for best coverage of arches, pergolas and façades.
Flower morphology
Semi-double, high-centred flowers with 13–25 petals, pointed-bud, cut-rose style. Medium-sized blooms, generally 1,5–2,75 inches across, borne mainly solitary on the stems. Self-cleaning is weak, so spent blooms benefit from deadheading.
Colour and phenology
