Grandiflora shrub rose marketed as Pacific™ Bedding rose BOZpacisun, from the Bedding rose collection. Registered cultivar name BOZpacisun, used mainly as a bedding and grandiflora garden rose in smaller borders.
Origin and breeding
Bred by Biljana Božanić Tanjga at PhenoGeno Roses, with breeding work around 2018. Parentage is not published. Introduced as a versatile, value-focused garden rose for bedding use rather than exhibition, with own-root production.
Growth and structure
Bushy, erect shrub, typically 60–90 cm high and 50–75 cm wide. Foliage is dense, dark green and slightly glossy, giving good background to the flowers. Moderately thorny stems and a compact outline suit hedging and group plantings.
Flower morphology
Medium-sized, double, cup-shaped blooms with 26–39 petals. Flowers are carried in clusters of about 3–5 per stem. Remontant habit with a strong second flush ensures repeated garden colour under normal feeding and watering.
Colour and phenology
Base petal colour is a rich yellowish-orange with a pink veil. Buds open golden-yellow flushed salmon-pink, maturing to mixed peach and pink. Colour then softens to pastel peach and creamy yellow with a light pink haze and holds reasonably well.
