Origin and breeding
Bred by Martin Vissers in Belgium, 2015, from ‘Alissar, Princess of Phoenicia’ × ‘Julia Child’. Introduced and initially distributed by Jan Spek Rozen BV in 2015; breeding company details otherwise not recorded.
Growth and structure
Compact, bushy shrub reaching about 75–105 cm high and 65–95 cm wide. Dense, grey-green, glossy foliage; moderately thorny stems. Suitable for spacing at 50–55 cm in rows or 90 cm as a specimen plant.
Flower morphology
Single, flat flowers with 5–12 petals, medium size around 1.5–2.75 inches, borne in clusters. Remontant, with abundant second flush and further repeat flowering under normal garden care.
Colour and phenology
Vivid orange base colour with a contrasting reddish-orange central blotch. Buds deep orange-red, opening to pure orange petals with a darker ring at the throat; colour lightens somewhat in strong sun, contrast stronger in cooler weather.
