Origin and breeding
Sport of ‘F.J. Grootendorst’ (Rosa rugosa rubra × ‘Madame Norbert Levavasseur’). Bred by F. J. Grootendorst & Sons Nursery, Boskoop, Netherlands. Introduced 1923, with early distribution via Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in Australia.

Growth and structure
