Origin and breeding
Natural sport of the hybrid tea 'Princesse de Monaco'. Bred by Meilland International, breeding year 1985 (Australia). Introduced by Meilland Richardier in France in 2014; registration year not documented.
Growth and structure
Vigorous climbing habit with dense, dark green glossy foliage and moderate prickles. Typical height 210–310 cm, spread 120–190 cm when trained on supports such as walls, fences, pergolas or arches.
Flower morphology
Very large, double, cup-shaped blooms with 26–39 petals, usually borne singly on the stem. Remontant, with a strong second flush that repeats well in favourable seasons, giving extended ornamental effect.
Colour and phenology
Cream-white base petals edged all round with pink to carmine. Buds ivory with pink tinge, opening to clear cream-white with ruby-pink margin, later softening towards pale peach-pink in strong sun; colour retention moderate.
