Souvenir de la Malmaison is a historic Bourbon rose also known as Souvenir de la Malmaison Heritage rose Béluze, classified as a historic shrub rose for garden and exhibition use.
Origin and breeding
Bred by Jean Béluze in France from ‘Madame Desprez’ × ‘Devoniensis’, introduced in 1843 as an unregistered cultivar that has since become one of the best-known Bourbon heritage roses.
Awards and recognitions
Honoured in the World Federation of Rose Societies Old Rose Hall of Fame (1988) and holder of the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit, granted 1993 and confirmed again in 2012.
