VALENTINO® is a hybrid tea rose; registered cultivar name BARval (BAR 4622), also known in exhibitions as Valentino. Part of the hybrid tea rose commercial group aimed at cut flower and garden display.
Origin and breeding
Bred by Enrico Barni in Italy around 2010 and introduced by Rose Barni from 2011. Developed primarily as a vivid red hybrid tea rose combining exhibition-quality blooms with reliable garden performance.
Growth and structure
Bushy, upright plant reaching about 75–105 cm in height with a 50–70 cm spread. Carries moderately thorny stems and dense, slightly glossy, dark green foliage that clothes the bush well and supports a tidy outline.
Flower morphology
Large, very double, high-centred blooms with over 40 petals, typically borne singly on stems. Classic pointed, cut-rose style buds that open slowly, suitable both for garden display and as quality cut flowers for the home.
Colour and phenology
